NEW QLD WHS Duties March 1, 2025 Deadline

Meet Obligations and Avoid New Penalties

From 1 March 2025, the Work Health and Safety (Sexual Harassment) Amendment Regulation 2024 (Qld) (WHS Regulation) will come into effect. This regulation strengthens existing workplace health and safety laws, mandating that Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBUs) take proactive measures to identify and manage psychosocial risks, including sexual harassment and sex or gender-based harassment at work.

Failing to comply with these new requirements could result in significant penalties, including prosecution under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) (WHS Act). This amendment reflects a shift in approach: from reactive responses to a proactive duty to eliminate risks
